1960's
The foundations of what would become The Altacon Group were established in 1960 with the founding of Alladin Construction by Mr Ahmed Khan, one of the first people of colour to hold a General Foreman position in the industry. Under his leadership, the company grew into a respected construction firm and remained active for over 26 years until 1986. Alladin Construction also became one of the pioneering Black-owned companies registered with the Master Builders Association.
1980's
In the 1980s, the business entered a new era, rebranding as Amokha Construction CC under the leadership of Mr Ashraff Khan and Mr Rishaad Khan. This period marked the continuation and expansion of its legacy, which later evolved into Rolacap (Pty) Ltd, trading as Builders and General from 2009.
2015
In 2015, the organisation transformed with the establishment of Altacon Group under the leadership of Mr Altaaf Essop. The rebrand introduced a renewed focus on innovation, operational excellence, and long-term growth. Today, Altacon Group continues to evolve as a forward-thinking construction company, integrating advanced technologies and AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, safety, and project delivery. As the group looks to the future, it remains committed to resilience, adaptability, and excellence in construction delivery.
